Why do businesses turn to collection agencies to handle their collections? Is it becuase they dont have the time to deal with collections themselves? Is it not that big of a deal and there for they can sell the debt to someone else?Or is it because if there are any illegal practices the business can hide behind the fact that the collection agency was the one collecting?

Can you seek consolidation if you only have collections in your history? Thats the only thing that’s hurting my credit. I don’t have any credit card debt or repo’s or anything like that. I have alot of payday loans that went into default and they’re on my credit. Also once you go into default with a loan company and then pay them off are you elgible to reloan with them? Like many Americans these days I am having trouble paying my credit card debt.

The balance is $8,000 and I am having trouble making the monthly payments.

What is the best course of action here? Should I make arangments with the company currently? Or is it better to let it go to collections and try and make some kind of lump sum deal?

Also, will I get sued if I do not pay? If so when?
